1. Choose an effect
Browse the library or describe your own idea.
Open Postai and browse the effect library. Effects are organized by category — Floral Grace, Beach & Summer, Winter, Valentines, Instastory and more. Tap any tile to see example results, the credit cost, and what kind of photo works best for that style.
Want something specific? Use the AI Editor to describe what you want in your own words: "longer hair, beach background, cinematic lighting" — Postai translates that into a generation request.
2. Upload your photo
For best results, use a clear, well-lit photo where your face is fully visible.
Postai runs an on-device face check to make sure the photo contains a usable face. This step never leaves your phone — no facial recognition data is sent anywhere.
3. Generate
Hit Generate. Your photo is sent securely to our AI processing service, which combines your likeness with the style of the chosen effect. Most images are ready in 30–90 seconds; complex multi-shot sets and videos can take up to 3 minutes during peak hours.
Each generation costs a small number of credits depending on the effect type. If a generation fails for any reason, your credits are refunded automatically.

How credits work
Credits are Postai's internal currency. Every generation costs a small amount.
Single-pose effects use fewer credits than multi-shot sets or videos.
What about my photos?
Postai is built privacy-first.
Source photos are sent to our AI service strictly to produce your creation, and temporary processing files are auto-deleted within 24 hours. We do not use your photos to train AI models, and we don't share them with anyone outside the processing pipeline.
You can delete your photos and generated images at any time from Settings → My Photos. Read the full Privacy Policy for details.
Tips for better results
Lighting matters most
Soft, even lighting on your face gives the AI the most to work with.
Stay close to the camera
Selfies and shoulders-up portraits beat full-body shots for most effects.
Try a few effects
Some styles work better with certain face shapes, hair, or skin tones — experimenting is part of the fun.
Use the AI Editor
If a result is close but not perfect, describe the change you want instead of starting over.
Troubleshooting
The face check rejected my photo
The on-device check needs to find a clear face. Try a different photo with better lighting and your face fully visible — no sunglasses, no extreme angles.
My generation took longer than usual
During peak hours (evenings and weekends) generations can take a couple of minutes. If something fails or hangs longer than 5 minutes, your credits are automatically refunded.
The result doesn't look like me
AI generation has natural variation — the more sample photos you provide for character-based effects, the better the likeness. Try uploading 3–5 selfies from different angles for multi-shot effects.
